The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award was created to encourage personal development, allowing young people to learn from new experiences to discover hidden capabilities and talents. Our canoe, hiking and winter expeditions, which qualify for The Duke of Edinburgh's Adventurous Journey, are designed to challenge young people to develop leadership, self-care, and interpersonal skills.
Outdoor education includes experiencing wilderness but at it's heart it's really about making good people. Canoe trips, winter expeditions and camp based programs offer students opportunities to connect with each other on a deep, human level on our programs.
Outdoor education means a lot of things: leadership, teamwork, communication, challenge, and resilience to name just a few. Voyageur Quest creates programs that promote these skills, fostering personal development through fun outdoor adventure in Algonquin Park. Each program is tailored to fit the school and students' needs.
All Outdoor Education programs are tailored to fit. Please see a few trip examples below for ideas.
