The crystal clear blue water and the 30, 000 islands make Georgian bay a prime paddling wilderness destination. Algonquin Park is famous for wildlife viewing as well as world famous canoe routes on pristine lakes. Our 5-day trip combines the best of both Ontario’s most beautiful natural destinations with four different types of adventures: sea kayaking, hiking, stand up paddle board ( SUP) and canoeing.
Accommodation for the four nights is in two comfortable and unique lodges. Located on the Seguin River on the edge of Georgian bay, Harmony Lodge Outdoor Inn offers Bed and Breakfast and glamping tent accommodation in a secluded woodland setting. The Algonquin Log Cabin, located on Surprise Lake at Algonquin Park’s north west corner , provides an intimate, off – the – grid rustic home for your days of canoeing and hiking.
Arrive early afternoon to Harmony Outdoor Inn, located on the shores of the Sequin river, near Parry Sound Ontario. Check in to your glamping tent, nestled into the mixed maple forest. Once you’ve settled in , meet your stand up paddle board instructor, and head out for a Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) lesson at our water. Swim, relax and enjoy dinner in the Harmony Pavilion. Post dinner option to take part in a campfire at the waterfront.
After a delicious breakfast, head out for a guided kayaking adventure on Georgian Bay.The Georgian Bay Biosphere is designated as a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. Kayak along the blue sparkling waters close to the shore and see the granite rocks, white pine trees, and little minks as they scramble up the shore with their crayfish lunch in their mouth. Fuel up and enjoy a delicious shore lunch along the way. Dinner back at the outdoor pavilion with more time for evening stand-up paddle board at the waterfront, or time to relax in a hammock in the trees.
After breakfast, short drive to the Island Queen, located five minutes from Harmony Outdoor Inn to experience a two-hour morning boat cruise of the windswept 30, 000 inner islands of Georgian Bay.Afternoon drive to Algonquin with a map and suggestions for lunch along the way. Arrive mid afternoon at the Algonquin Log cabin. Take a swim, sauna and enjoy wine and cheese on the back deck. Dinner and relax at the Algonquin Log cabin
After breakfast, head out for the day to explore Surprise Lake by Voyageur canoe. Cliff jumping and picnic lunch at Red Rock. Enjoy a leisurely paddle as we island hop our way down the lake and arrive via canoe back at the Algonquin Log Cabin. Relax, swim or take a sauna. Or test your skills the Log Cabin Eco Challenge. BBQ dinner followed by “Voices of Algonquin” night paddle.
Morning wild edible walk to Lookout Bluff overlooking Algonquin lakes. Return for lunch back at the Log Cabin. Depart after lunch.
