Winter at the Algonquin Log Cabin is a true snowy wonderland for dog sledding, snowshoeing and backcountry skiing. Off the beaten track and very private, the Algonquin Log Cabin was built for active adventure types whose idea of a first class weekend (or anytime) adventure is to head to a remote lakeside cabin with special friends or family to enjoy active days and amazing food. The Algonquin Log Cabin can accommodate 12 guests. For larger groups, our Pinecroft Cabin is just steps away.
Hidden on a quiet lake at Algonquin Park’s north west corner, the Algonquin Log Cabin makes for the ideal private cabin weekend. With a talented cook preparing tasty meals, a guide to take you on scenic excursions by snowshoe, ski or dogsled , your family or group of friends are in for a unique combination of a rustic log cabin adventure and catered winter safari.
The luxury here is in the wilderness lakeside location with first class guide and cook service. Feast on tortiere with parmesan risotto, roasted vegetables and our famous sticky pudding with hot fudge sauce. Meals are served at the large harvest table in front of the massive fireplace. Head out at night for torch lit skating. Try the luge run down the ridge trail.
Unplug and remember the feeling of truly getting away. The Algonquin Log Cabin does not have telephones or electricity. Cozy, comfortable and free of distractions, the 2 night private experience offers your group a chance to connect in person, laugh and have fun in a gorgeous natural playground.
Private Algonquin Park cabin weekends are shaped to your group. Talk to Nikoline our outstanding cook, about your menu preferences. Wild game, vegetarian, gluten free – Nick’s cooking and baking is truly wonderful and will shape accordingly.
Shape the outdoor activity menu to your pace. Try your hand at dog sledding, ski down Surprise Lake, snowshoe to dinner in our heated prospector tent, or enjoy a quiet snowshoe in a forest blanketed with snow. Bonfire, music, ice fishing, craft beer, award winning wine- how can we make this weekend the best possible for you?
