Itinerary
Bring your family north to Algonquin this winter for a 4-day authentic adventure your family can do together. Enjoy dogsledding, snowshoeing, ice fishing and home cooked meals in an unspoiled winter wonderland. Relax at night in your own private chalet suite.
Located on beautiful Kawawaymog (Round Lake) at Algonquin Park's northwest corner, Algonquin Cottage Outpost features 3 fully furnished deluxe solar powered chalet suites with fireplace and deck. Each chalet suite features two bedrooms, washroom with hot shower, living room with fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, dining table, deck with BBQ.
MONDAY AND THURSDAY
Arrive at Algonquin Cottage Outpost. Welcome lunch and guided snowshoeing to a lookout over a blanket of snow-covered terrain. Take in a breath of fresh air and enjoy the calm of the wilderness. Return to the Outpost for a BBQ dinner. Lace up the skates after dinner for some magical torchlight skating under the winter sky!
TUESDAY AND FRIDAY
Drive to dogyard for a dogsled orientation session that covers harnessing a team, dogcare, trip itinerary, and sledding safety. Yes this is the real deal! Mushing two people per team of six dogs, enjoy your "mush" as you travel through the Algonquin Highland forests. Return to Algonquin Cottage Outpost for a tasty meal in front of the wood stove. Relax and learn all about Algonquin wildlife and winter legends in a fun and informative slide show.
WEDNESDAY AND SATURDAY
After a hearty breakfast, head out on snowshoes in search for a heated tent hidden in the forest. Enjoy a delicious lunch cooked over the fire. Make snowshoes and bake bannock over a woodstove. Head back to the Outpost and take part in making a quinzee.
Dinner at the Algonquin Cottage Outpost. Night snowshoe for stars. More adventurous family members can try winter camping in the quinzee!
THURSDAY AND SUNDAY
Depart - optional ski or snowshoe around the lake.

Cost is $2,844 per family of 4. Ask our office about special rates for groups of 10.
Please note that each package can be customized
Cost includes: Three nights deluxe chalet suite accommodation, all meals from lunch day 1 to lunch day 4, guided dogsledding, snowshoeing, torch lit skating, use of backcountry skiis.
Cost does not include:

RETURN TRAIN TRANSPORTATION FROM TORONTO
Cost is $150($125US) per person for return train transportation from Toronto
HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED? WHAT KIND OF SHAPE DO YOU NEED TO BE IN?
None! The Algonquin Family Winter Adventure is for people at any level of experience. Our pace is very relaxed, as the trip objective is to have fun and enjoy the Algonquin outdoors. Children must be a minimum of 6 years of age to participate in dogsledding.

Voyageur Quest guides are skilled outdoorsmen and women who are there to ensure your trip is an adventure of a lifetime. On top of being well versed in the natural and cultural history of northern Ontario, our guides are selected for their love of the people and the land. All Voyageur Quest guides are qualified professionals and trained in wilderness first aid.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY
Each participant will be required to sign and return to Voyageur Quest a release of liability before being allowed to participate in any trip we offer. This document releases Voyageur Quest from liability in the case of accident or injury for any reason.
