Itinerary

DAY 1
We meet at 12.30pm at the Voyageur Quest rendezvous location situated at the north west corner of Algonquin Park. Take an interpretative hike to Music Lake featuring an introduction to the boreal forest, beaver ponds, and spruce bogs. Picnic lunch at Music Lake before hiking to Surprise Lake where a 26 foot Voyageur Canoe waits. Enjoy a leisurely paddle as you "island hop" your way down the lake and arrive via canoe at the Algonquin Log Cabin. Relax on the porch, swim or take a sauna. Canadian dinner followed by a night hike focusing on Loon calls, Barred Owl hoots and wolf howls.

DAY 2
Morning edibles wild walk to Lookout bluff overlooking Algonquin Lakes. Return for lunch back at the Log Cabin. Afternoon to relax, explore Surprise Lake on your own, or take part in traditional Canadian craft workshop (make your own Canadian memory) and bush craft/wood skills. Late afternoon paddle to campfire point for sunset, bonfire and dinner. After dinner, learn all about the northern sky. Night paddle back to Log cabin

DAY 3
Voyageur start and optional sunrise paddle. Search for moose and beaver lodges and take advantage of ideal photography opportunities. Cook out maple syrup breakfast. Return to Lodge for Canadian barbecue lunch, swim and sauna.

Mid-afternoon, drive through Canadian Shield country to Killarney, arriving in the evening to take in the sunset amid the breathtaking vistas of Georgian Bay.

DAY 4
After breakfast climb to the highest point in Killarney Park. Paddle by canoe and then hike to the best view in Ontario. It is easy to see why the Group of Seven fell in love with this area. You'll work up an appetite for your tasty packed lunch Throughout the day, there is plenty of time for swimming and enjoying the rugged scenery of Killarney with its black volcanic rocks cutting through the white quartzite shoreline.

DAY 5
Check out of your room and prepare for a day on the water. Tropical blue waters and the white quartzite islands of Fraser Bay await. Arrive by boat, explore by sea kayak and enjoy a sumptuous cookout lunch before cruising home.

The above itinerary is intended to give you an idea of a 5-day Algonquin to Killarney Trip. The exact itineary will be confirmed at the time of booking based on availability.

DATES: Monday to Friday, June 17- October 18, 2013

The cost is: $875 per person self-drive from Algonquin Park

The cost includes:
Four nights lodge accommodation (double occupancy), all meals for five days, all equipment, guided excursions including: sea kayaking, hiking, canoeing and wildlife viewing, and services of a wilderness guide.

The cost does not include:
HST (13% federal tax), personal clothing or transportation.

RETURN TRANSPORTATION FROM TORONTO
Based on a minimum group size of 3 or more: Return transportation from Toronto and ground transfers throughout available for $225 per person based on a minimum group size of 6 people.

ADDITIONAL NIGHTS:
Pre-trip accommodations available at the Algonquin Log Cabin.
Post-trip accommodations available at Killarney Mountain Lodge.

HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED? WHAT KIND OF SHAPE DO YOU NEED TO BE IN?
None!
"Algonquin to Killarney" is for people at any level of experience. For the best experience we recommend you be in moderate shape before joining us. Most of our day trips require being active for up to four hours at a time.

A WORD ABOUT YOUR GUIDE
Voyageur Quest guides are skilled outdoorsmen and women who are there to ensure your canoe and lodge trip is an adventure of a lifetime. On top of being well versed in the natural and cultural history of northern Ontario, our guides are selected for their love of the people and the land. All Voyageur Quest guides are qualified professionals and trained in wilderness first aid.

WHO ELSE IS ON THIS TRIP?
A typical Lodge-to-Lodge trip might consist of one couple, a group of friends and individuals travelling on their own. The male and female ratio is usually equal but varies from trip to trip. Northern Ontario attracts people from all over the globe, so you will likely be travelling with an international group. Group size is usually between 8 and 12 people. Special family trips are also available!

RELEASE OF LIABILITY
Each participant will be required to sign and return to Voyageur Quest a release of liability before being allowed to participate in any trip we offer. This document releases Voyageur Quest from liability in the case of accident or injury for any reason.
