CUSTOMER INFORMATION/ BOOKINGS/DATABASE/FOLLOW UP
Answering inquiries by telephone or email, communicating trip information, prices, and inclusions, customizing trips and programs, entering information into database, issuing customer follow up documentation
TOUR LOGISTICS
Printing, faxing, e-mailing guest detail information to guides, guide schedule coordination, supplier coordination – dog sledding, canoe rentals, transportation etc., creation of detailed spreadsheets for custom programs and logistics
MARKETING
Web site maintenance, itinerary changes, photo changes and organization, newsletters, pr and advertising
ACCOUNTING
Staff payroll, payment of operating and office bills, input expenses, seasonal budgets, cash flow projections
MULTI-FUNCTION
Picking up/ dropping off vans
Daily hours are 9am–5pm at our home office in Toronto.
Salary $500-600 per week based on experience

ALGONQUIN WINTER GUIDE
Winter guides are responsible for hosting up to 12 participants on 3 day winter trips to the Algonquin Log Cabin and Cottage Outpost. Guides should have experience instructing cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and interpretative abilities as well as having strong leadership experience and good hospitality/culinary skills.
Winter guides have their own gear including skis, snowshoes and winter clothing. Rustic accommodation is provided during trips. Applicants must have Wilderness First Responder.
Nov 27, 2011 – Mar 30, 2012
$125 per day - approximately $6,000 - &7000 for the season (15 days of work a month)

ALGONQUIN LOG CABIN COOK & FOOD MANAGER
Voyageur Quest and the Algonquin Log Cabin are looking for a cook to manage the Log cabin and cottage menu and kitchen. The position requires preparing and serving Canadian cuisine for groups of 6 – 15. Meals and recipes must be of a quality standard that feature Canada / the north and are homemade. The Algonquin Log Cabin is very rustic. There is no electricity. Water is from hand pump. There is a large commercial propane stove and oven. There is a propane fridge and 5 or 6 coolers. Job description includes:
Preparing quality meals
Dishes
Monitoring food and staples inventory
Ensuring food shops and orders are on budget
Ensuring kitchen and food storage area are kept clean
Preparing some meals in advance to be cooked by other guides
December – March
$12- $15/ hour with option of extending contract to year round

VOYAGEUR QUEST PROPERTY MANAGER AND HOST
The property manager works a wide variety of tasks to support the needs of three properties, the programs and the guides. Work includes and is not limited to:
routine property maintenance;
trouble shoot and perform minor repairs on plumbing and solar systems, appliances, canoes and paddles, buildings – window and screen repairs etc.;
carpentry handy-person skills a definite asset as new projects such as docks, shed and canoe rack construction are always ongoing;
transportation of supplies (including waste to the local dump), people and food;
wood chopping;
custodian/customer check in/out.This involves being on site early in the morning to heat up cottage units, turn on propane appliances, chop wood followed by meet and greet of customers. recommend local trails, coordinate suppliers like boats, bike rentals, dogsledding, snowshoes, canoes, kayaks.
work with minimal supervision
Part time work -on average 2 - 3 days a week
$12- $15/ hour seasonal (Dec-March) (Apr-Oct) with option of extending contract to year round
