Driving Directions
FROM TORONTO:
Distance is 302km or approximately 3 ½ hours driving
Take highway 401 (east or west) to highway 400
Go north on highway 400 towards Barrie. At Barrie, follow signs for highway 11 north to North Bay. Continue on highway 11 north to the town of South River.
AT SOUTH RIVER:
Make a right (going east) on Ottawa Avenue. Follow Ottawa Avenue east out of town. It will bend a number of times and you will travel past Swift Canoes, Tracs Outfitters and eventually over a bridge.
Once over the bridge, follow the road approximately 15-20 minutes (about 15-20km). You will be making a left turn when you see a sign on your left for PROJECT DARE. The electricity poles also make the left hand turn at the DARE sign.
Follow Project Dare Rd. to Project Dare (about 2-3km).
Continue past Project Dare - Make a left turn at first intersection past DARE. This is about 3km past DARE. There is an Algonquin Log Cabin sign on your left.
-Follow to V - stay left (you will see a VQ sign as well as other cottage signs).
-Follow to Algonquin Log Cabin driveway.
The Log Cabin is located about 30 minutes driving from South River.
Lunch is usually at 12:45pm-1pm. Please let us know approximately when we should be expecting you.

There is both a Beer store and LCBO in South River if you would like to bring any alcohol.

FROM NORTH BAY
Take highway 11 south to Trout Creek
AT TROUT CREEK: (Approximately 20 minutes driving time to Algonquin Log Cabin)
This is your last chance to purchase beer/ wine/ film/ etc. The General Store has most items.
1. At Trout Creek make a left turn (going east) at the General Store.
2. Go up the hill.
3. Take the first right turn at Foresty Rd.
4. Follow Foresty Rd. for approximately 12 km. It will bend a bunch of times. The road goes mostly east. There are numerous side roads. Stay straight. After around 8 or 9 km the road will bend 90o to the right and there will be a lake on your left. Shortly after -you will come across a Y junction
5. At first Y junction - stay right
6. At second Y junction - stay right (look for Algonquin Log Cabin sign)
7. At third Y junction - stay left (look for VQ sign)
8. Continue past "6 K's" staying left - (look for Voyageur Quest sign)
9. Go approximently 500 metres - look for Algonquin Log Cabin sign (the Lodge will be on the right)
