Flying High Above Algonquin

This past weekend two of our adventurous guests had a birds eye view of Algonquin. After touching down on Surprise Lake in a sea plane, Dave & Lydia Mowat spent the day canoeing, hiking and enjoying a romantic picnic lunch for two on a private island.

Kayak Paddle for Heart and Stroke

Lazy Days of Summer

The long lazy days of summer are here! This translates into lot's of moose, cold drinks on the deck and jumping in the lake at every opportunity ! Here are a few shots from last week.

Floating down North Tea

What better way to celebrate the Canada Long weekend than to head into Algonquin's north west corner for a family canoe trip. Enjoyed a good sail down North Tea with a floating lunch to boot !

Our family canoe trips are great fun for children ages 6 and up. If you have younger children consider a private trip or one of Voyageur Quest lodge based packaged.

Berrry Picking

Berries galore ! The bears are in heaven at this time and so are we ! Both our Algonquin properties are fortunate to be surrounded by wild berries. Wild strawberries for our ice cream at the Cottage Outpost , blackberries for the torte at the Log Cabin and blueberries for one and all - all the time !

Bass fishing at Algonquin Park

Bass season opened last weekend and our Algonquin Cottage Outpost was busy with young anglers searching for the big one. Bass fishing is great from our 3 docks and raft as well as out among the many rocky shoals in Kawawaymog Lake.

If you enjoy trout fishing and wilderness canoeing, consider one of our Cottage Outpost fishing packages. For pike and pickerel , hire one of our fishing guides for a day out on Lake Nippising or Lake Bernard.
