Surprise Lake Triathalon

The Algonquin Log Cabin was host to the “ relay sprint” Surprise Lake Triathlon this past weekend. Congratulations to the 4 teams who finished this wheel, hike and canoe event. We were delighted to have a few of our triathlon solo champions of the past 4 years on hand to cheer on the teams. Looking forward to the big race on Labour Day!

STAGETTE!!

19 women arrived at the Algonquin Log Cabin for a holiday long weekend to remember! The theme was a stagette for my younger sister Jane, who is getting married next month in Toronto. We enjoyed a special couple of days … it was wonderful to see Jane surrounded by family and close friends. Great to have a few of the original Log Cabin “construction crew” including master chinker Cathy and Susan who helped play a key role in our new roof.

Introducing Don

Voyageur Quest is delighted to welcome Don Glaude as part of our Algonquin management team. Don is a veteran wilderness guide with tremendous outdoor skills. Originally from Sudbury, Don is a graduate of the Seneca Outdoor Rec program and has spent the last 8 years working in the Algonquin Park area. We also welcome Amy, Don’s partner, who will be playing a major role in our Algonquin canoe trip logistics and organization.

National Geographic Gives ‘A” to New Trip

Great news from National Geographic Traveler who just selected our new 7- day family adventure “Muskoka, Moose and Whitewater” as worthy for their weekly top picks for their “ A” list.

The trip centerpiece is a 3-day Algonquin Park canoe trip followed by a night at the Algonquin Log Cabin. A stay in Muskoka and the Ottawa River complete the trip.

Magical May Mornings at the Algonquin Cottage Outpost

This was the view this morning as our staff team paddled away from the Algonquin Cottage Outpost into the sunrise on Kawawaymog Lake. The fish were jumping, the loons were yodelling...
