Join the BEST WINTER PACKAGE IN CANADA Footsteps of the Pioneer - selected in March 1998 by the Canadian Tourism Commission. This 3-day trip offers a sample of winter adventures including dogsledding, backcountry skiing, snowshoeing and ice fishing.
No experience is required for this 3 day winter trips. It is a great way to get a taste of all aspects of winter. Our Algonquin Log Cabin Lodge offers comfort after an energetic day on skis or snowshoes. Enjoy a wood-fired sauna, shower, and then sip a hot drink in front of the stone fireplace. Join us in March for a wilderness gastronomic experience that combines dogsledding, an overnight at the Algonquin Log Cabin and a wild game feast with wine served up by celebrated wine maker Norman Hardie.
We are delighted to have Norm join us at the Log Cabin for two days of fresh air and wild game / wine pairings. The Pinot Noir and County Chardonnay are rated among the best wines in Canada. Mr. Hardie has past roles include being the sommelier and restaurant manager at the Four Seasons in Toronto.
This adventure includes a return shuttle from downtown Toronto with an afternoon learning how to Dogsled, accommdoation at the Algonquin Log Cabin and a wild game feast with wine pairings - prepared by Norman Hardie. The shuttle returns to Toronto Sunday evening.
